Senior Internship Program
The LHS Senior Internship Program is an opportunity for seniors to gain real-world work experience. This program is available to Grade 12 students in good academic standing who are on track to graduate in June 2026. The program empowers students to take ownership of their education by pursuing an internship in a special area of interest. In place of attending traditional classes, participants will expand their learning by interning with an internship that is on-site, hybrid, or remote.
Students will be guided through the process by our Senior Internship Program Coordinator. Mr. Dan Quackenbush, a faculty member in our Business Education Department, will hold periodic meetings during the 2025-2026 school year to assist students with the Senior Internship process and completing the program requirements.
The internship program is scheduled to run for four weeks, from May 19 - June 16, 2026. These dates are after the AP exams.
Students are expected to spend a minimum of 20 hours per week on their internship and no more than 8 hours a day for those students under age 18. Once the internship starts, students will submit weekly journal assignments to the coordinator. At the conclusion of the internship period, students will be required to complete a final presentation detailing and reflecting on their experience as a culminating assessment. Students will earn 1 credit upon completion of all program requirements and a positive evaluation from both their internship mentor and faculty advisors.
